SOLA-TECS C c1000

German-made water-driven solar panel cleaning rig with a 700-RPM brush roller on a telescope lance. Cleans glass-safe without chemicals.

Detailed definition

The SOLA-TECS C c1000 is a mobile brush roller system built by Cleantecs GmbH, a German manufacturer that has been making high-pressure cleaning accessories for more than 25 years. The rig pairs a soft-bristle rotating brush with a telescope lance — the brush spins at roughly 700 RPM, driven purely by water pressure piped through a high-pressure hose inside the lance. No chemicals, no detergents, no abrasive media.

That matters because virtually every commercial panel manufacturer specifies water-only cleaning with a soft-bristle brush as the approved maintenance method. Pressure washers, harsh chemistry, and stiff brushes are the things that void warranties and degrade the anti-reflective coating on the glass.

We picked the SOLA-TECS C c1000 specifically for commercial-scale work: warehouse rooftops, retail-center arrays, parking canopies, school and hospital campuses. The telescope lance reaches most commercial roof heights from the ground, which keeps the crew off ladders and roofs when the install geometry allows it. When rooftop work is unavoidable, the rig comes up with us.

For property managers, the practical question is usually production versus cleaning frequency. In San Diego, coastal installs collect marine-layer salt fast — quarterly is the right cadence. Inland warehouse roofs in dustier corridors typically do well on a semi-annual schedule. After a fire-ash event or a Santa Ana dust event, skip the calendar and clean.

See the Solar Panel Cleaning service page for cadence options and a sample production-lift report format.
